On Sunday 18th January the Mayor of Weston-super-Mare attended Sunday Mass at All Saints Church Weston-super-Mare, to present a cheque to the Chaplain of Weston Hospice Care the Revd. Karen Murphy.

The cheque for £1,600 was the collection from the Civic Carol Service which was underwritten by the Town Council which took place on Wednesday 17th December.  

Each year a local charity is the recipient of such funding.

Fr Brendan Clover said "The Carol Service this year was spectacular and it is now an intrinsic part of our Christian year at All Saints, and in the life of our town and its people.

We welcomed again Matthew Nicholls (Director of Music at Prior Park College) as our organist.  The choir Harmonia Sacra, and the Bristol Brass Consort, under the skilful direction of Peter Leech, provided a full church with such a high-quality musical offering.  This must be the best Carol Service outside Wells!."
