Father Andrew Hughes
Father Andrew was born in Brighton in Sussex, and spent his early life living on the South Coast. He studied psychology at university, and spent much of his career working clinically in the mental health field and living in Gloucestershire. His last post before ordination was as Senior Lecturer in Mental health Nursing, at UWE in Bristol.
He studied for the priesthood at Saint Stephen's House in Oxford, and was Assistant Curate at Saint Francis of Assisi, Friar Park in the Lichfield Diocese. Friar Park is a large council estate close to West Bromwich in the urban sprawl known as the Black Country. Father Andrew also worked as chaplain to the West Midlands Police, and has had firsthand experience of the local riots, being out on patrol with officers at their height. He includes among his hobbies walking and reading, and loves driving. He is very much looking forward to being amongst the people of All Saints with Saint Saviour's parish.
